In terms of accuracy, the CWs were pretty spot-on, having the internal bracing, thin tops, and scatterwounds. They also came pretty late to the
L.E. lineup, in 2000 or so.

The tops on most of the CW models are like maple on steroids. Give 'em less-spectacular wood, like the real ones...

I've never considered my CW as being maple on steriods.

Well, that's why I used the word most.

I'm actually warming to some of the figured ones, though. A special model should have special wood. A reissue in the C or V series, however, would have plainer figuring to be more vintage-accurate.

Not necessarily. Many vintage instruments have excellent figuring. Check out the photos in the Smith book for some great examples.

There are a few small pictures of mid-'60s 360/12s in the Smith book, all with very plain figure.

The original point being that the 360/12 NS could be a viable reissue someday.

I'm surprised that they haven't reissued more non-Beatles related models. Of course, I don't know that much about the production system they use, and I understand about the backlog, but to an outsider such as myself, some reissue models seem pretty doable.

4001c68 - Seems like this would be relatively easy for them to make, especially since the production 4003's have gotten closer to vintage spec. Take a current 4003, add whatever vintage inlay materials they use, checkered binding, and the gear from the 4001c64 and voila! Well, you'd be pretty close, anyway.

360c65 - Also seems pretty doable. Could be done as a six string, to compliment the reissue 12-string already in the catalog.

Both of these would be welcome. Fantasy, though?

I am speaking about vintage Ricks in general, not just specific to the 360/12 model.

if i am not mistaken such a run existed. it is rumored that there was small run of 360/12 with wider neck. i think norman's rare guitars had some in the past....so it would be reissue and something useful on top of that. and why not make it 21 fret guitar at the same time?
