A reworked Dynaco made to the Manley VTL Ultimate circuit. Haven't had either plugged in in a few years... :(
I met David Manley at the first Stereophile Hi-Fi Show in Santa Monica in '87. Very nice guy; he spent lots of time with my friend, warren, and I. David even offered to help Warren with some mods for his old HH SCott tubed receiver, and followed through!

His ex, Eve Anna is quite a piece of work; have you ever visited this place ?
I've got a Scott integrated amp and tuner from '63, restored, in my shop...gorgeous, lush, warm sound; important with those old, scratched LPs...

Manley is wonderful stuff; they've just released a new phono stage, but at $7500.00, it's out of my price range.

Throw in some Logic software and you're halfway to the big time
Sounds good to me. How does the expense compare to Pro-Tools? The reason I ask is because Pro-Tools is more than I would want to save up for.

Only online. Yeah, she is quite a piece of work - worked Manley over pretty good..... My VTL 100 Monoblocks were made by David back when he was still in GB.

Apple computers: eMac w/Leopard, and an iTouch.

MacIntosh hi-fi: Not yet, but someday.

Raincoats: beige London fog and a tatty old black one that I'll be wearing this weekend.

I've got an iMac. I bought it just before I got my first Ric.
All of these were recorded with GarageBand, which came with my iMac.

I used to work at Apple. I've owned in the neighborhood of 12 Macs. I still have a couple, despite having "gone over to the dark side".

Jeffrey and Lynda, it really isn't bad. The good of it is that in Microsoft Surface I still get to change the world of computing. Also, the environment on the death star (at least so far) is actually less violent internally than that of the rebel alliance. Plus, we get to wear these cool plastic suits of armor and get a free iv coffee drip- I have to make a careful effort to avoid overcaffenation.

Every time I have to record music, I do miss using the ease of use from the Mac universe and its developers. A lot of stuff is fairly similar, but I think that people put up with baffling interfaces on this side, so they don't make a big effort to copy all of the ease of use things with which I was comfy over there.

+1 for macs and music. I'm so spoiled  because mac lets me think only about the music when I work.

Mark,

 I NEED the free IV coffee drip. I don't think there is such as thing as overcaffeination!
