Nigh on a year...

Post by JakeK »

Tomorrow, I'm most likely going to be out at International Vintage Guitars trying out their three Rics in stock as well as various tube amps, so I thought I'd get this over with tonight...

It's been exactly one whole year since I've been here. I've loved it here, and while I've tortured each and every one of you with my constant longing for and lusting over a 1997/1997SPC/1998PT, I would just like to say thanks to everyone for putting up with me throughout all this. I've met some of the coolest people in the world (stand up if you know who you are!), as well as gained some inciteful knowledge about the greatest guitars in the world...

Some people have made me envious of them for having all those fine and impressive Rics (GRAHAM, John Williams, John Minutaglio, Kevin Kuney and countless others), while there are some like me who have one Ric, a bunch with two or three and some with none. But you guys have made me feel welcome, and I hope that I can carry on for another great year at RRF.

Even though, I may not have acquired any new Rics (that's for this Christmas, said my parents!), I have acquired something better, my own section to moderate on RRF.

Thanks to all of the friends I have here, and all the kind souls who I have met as well. May God bless you with the best in life. :)

So, yeah, it's been a year. Let's pray that you guys can put up with me for another one!

Jake, it just wouldn't be as great here without you. Your appreciation of sixties music astonishes me and makes me rest easy knowing the torch shall be passed on to capable hands. You have the classic rock and roll spirit and I'd jam with you anytime.

Wishing you a happy and enriching experience with RRF next year, and looking forward to your future postings.

Keep on rockin'!

What's all this Jake.............someone other than me has been nice to you? Seriously, though I am glad you enjoy your time here. Hopefully you'll continue to have RAS and hopefully you will continue to find sufficient help to get over it.

God bless you too Jake. You make me smile at least once a week.

Well Jake, I can only echo the sentiments of both Kira and Eden. This ol' Baby Boomer finds your enthusiasm quite inspiring. Blessings back on you.

Congrats on one year, and also on moderating your own section. Your knowledge of things Who, Petty, etc. astounds me. Watch the mail in about a week.

+1....It's a journey...It really doesn't matter where you start. What does matter is where you are headed and the path you take to get there. I agree with Eden and Kira. You continue to show a lot of maturity and I very much enjoy your passion for music.
Keep after it..... :D

Jake, I notice the word "acquire" turning up a lot...it's most important to "acquire" intangibles. You will find that, as you acquire these, the tangibles come easier--almost without effort. And, as a result, you will appreciate everything a good deal more and feel less anxiety.

Happy anniversary!
