"Tranny" 4001 on the bay

Hard to tell with my cheap monitor-but looks like checkered binding to me:

It does look like checkered binding, but it is hard to see.

I e-mailed the guy asking the serial number and if he had more photos. That bass is right near me, maybe 20 minutes or so.

He sent me picks. The ones in the auction were not his bass. It's a 76 and my bid has been retracted.

Not sure. He just admitted through e-mail that he copied the pictures and said it wasn't a problem if anyone wanted to retract their bids.He did send me actual pictures of the bass for sale. Not a bad bass, but not a 73.

I got the pictures too. No checkerboard binding, no toaster, and some rust on the screws. He was willing to show the bass at a local coffee shop. I wonder if it's worth the trip now.
