A Question for C64FG Owners

Post by rickfan63 »

Have any of you ever thought of stripping down your C64FG to MG like Macca did? The thought pops into my mind every now and then, and I wondered if I was the only one. Not that I would do it mind you, but there's times that I think about it, then chicken out.

Jeff's right. No reason to. Read the description on this page carefully.

I mean...you could sand it down without rounding the horns to where it looked like this:

....Or you could just buy a C64S and consider it close enough.

I'm guessing that sanding down your C64 would reduce its value!

Naw, the woods too clean and good looking!

If you did sand down the C64 FG, you'd have to leave the headstock FG wouldn't you?

Macca with "ebay" printed across his crotch. What's next in the name of commerce?

I'm well aware of the C64S guys. I've just thought it might be interesting to as George Harrison said "let the wood breathe", or paint it another color. I doubt seriously that I would ever do it. The FG looks quite nice. I just wondered if anyone else had thought about this too. I guess not.

Or you could order the C64 in MG.

All it took was for someone to ask about removing a Fireglo finish to bring Jim out of hiding. Welcome back Jim.
