Are they putting something new in the water at RIC?

Check out this link for a new 360FG advertised on Musician's Friend (click on the photo to make it larger) :

I mean, I get the same reaction, looking at this, as I do when I see a gorgeous, unattainable woman. I mean, gosh darn ! It makes my 2005 360-12 FG (which I still love) look like a lolipop, in comparison. The midnight blue looks awesome, in these photos, as well. I wonder how accurate they are. My lord, it makes me GAS so severely for another RIC, I feel like I could cry when I see these. I'm pretty sure the new inlays factor in my current state of lust. Go RIC !!

The MID 660 I saw at POTR during MARF was awesome and, yes, those MF pics do it justice. :D

This is the first blue I actually like on a guitar/bass.

I think the full width inlays give the new Ricks a whole new level of appeal. Combine that with toasters on a new dark bursted Fireglo 360-12 and -- wow: :D

I've never been a huge fan of Fireglo, but the recent examples I've seen from RIC are very nice! They seem darker around the edges and less pink in the middle. Perhaps Eric B. could comment on the change.

Everything about the 2008 models is wonderful.

From the superb paint job (particularly on the Fireglo/Amber Fireglo models), the wonderful grain on the rosewood fretboard, the smaller headstocks, the new full width inlays, to the shiny finish which seems to be more glass like than before.

In years to come I think 2008 will be recognised as a superb year for Ric production.

One of my 3 may have to go so that I can get one!

And let's not forget that they're now making left handed shark teeth too ! I also love that vintage size headstock.

So, c'mon guys: give credit where it's due: to Eric Behring, who cares about his work and is a true finishing craftsman and superstar, to JH for his uncompromising standards, and to Ben Hall for running things so professionally.

Going by these pics, the colours of late seem to be richer and a lot more vibrant.

Keep up the great work Eric, and John and Ben Hall for setting the standard. :D

+1

I've never been a huge fan of blues or greens on guitars (or pastel colors, regardless of color) but I must admit that I really love the Midnight Blue.
Thanks!

As nice as the finishes are, I think the new inlays help make the overall appearance "pop".
