3 Ricks, 2 Macs, 1 M-Audio with pro Tools. Now if I can find some good drum loops.......
Re: Rics and Macintosh
Three Rics and one Mac.
Re: Rics and Macintosh
Speaking of Macs, there was more than a little hype about Steve Jobs puttin' on an online Apple sale today. IMHO, he laid an egg. Dudsville, USA. Oh, well.....should I have expected more? Naaahhh! Just some thoughts from this curmudgeon. Ciao for now.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Wow. On the Dutch spoken apple site I see savings up to 10 % for blackfriday. (And we dont even know a blackfriday over here unless it is about trafic jams.)goofyfoot wrote:Speaking of Macs, there was more than a little hype about Steve Jobs puttin' on an online Apple sale today. Macs & Ric. Yep'per.
Re: Rics and Macintosh
6 Rics, 2 Macs (G4 iMac and a Macbook) and and iPod. Two of my favorite companies - Rickenbacker and Apple.
Re: Rics and Macintosh
One and One.
Both beauties.
Plus three Apple iPods and an iPhone.
Hey, there's a recession going on .. you think I'm made of money?!

Re: Rics and Macintosh
MY reason for asking the queston was to see if quality begets quality in other areas. Neither product is dominant in market share yet has an almost fanatical user base and many owners have multiple products

Re: Rics and Macintosh
2 Ricks and I'm on my 6th Mac. I never switched (never owned a PC), and I'm embarrassingly Windows-illiterate.
My first Mac was a Performa 6200 CD (1995). I still have it and I play Oregon Trail on it sometimes. Then I had a Blueberry iMac DV that I bought in 2000. Next I had a G3 iBook, then a G4 PowerBook I bought in 2004 and I just retired in October when I got a new MacBook Pro (aka GlassBook Pro). When I was in college I snagged a Mac Plus that the Biology Department was getting rid of. It's circa 1986.
GarageBand is a fun piece of software.

Don't sweat it buddy, Windows is overrated. I use a PC and I hate 'em.mustangsally65 wrote:....I never switched (never owned a PC), and I'm embarrassingly Windows-illiterate.![]()

Powerbook G4 (OS X Tiger); Ric 4003FL & 4003
If someone is a PC person that's totally cool, but I was raised on them, and converted to Mac as soon as I moved out.

You mean your parents abused you while you were under their wing?cassius987 wrote:If someone is a PC person that's totally cool, but I was raised on them, and converted to Mac as soon as I moved out.
Re: Rics and Macintosh
Even though they cost about the same price and both accept digital input
, there are some important differences between a Mac and a Rick:
Plugging in your Rick is optional to enjoying it.
A Rick is just getting broken in after two years, while a Mac has reached the end of its special powers.
Your Mac wants constant upgrades of software and hardware. Your Rick just wants new strings.
RIC spends our dough in the good old USA. Apple is selling us down the river.
Call RIC and talk to a human being. Try that with Apple.
Oh, I could go on ...
