Just got this a couple weeks ago and I can't put it down:
So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star-The Byrds Day-By-Day 1965-1973 by Christopher Hjort
ISBN 978-1-906002-15-2
Nice-sized softcover book with lots of day to day info and many photos I hadn't seen before. A "gotta have" for Byrds fans.

Re: New Byrds Book
I just finished the book a couple of days ago. A must for Byrds fans! I will begin to re-read the book again shortly - it's that good.

Picked it up last week and can't put it down. An excellent read for Byrd fans!

The research is superb. All the bits and pieces, famous quotes, rumors, etc. of Byrds' lore are in this book. Everything is contextualized and given a definitive time frame.
I hadn't realized how much the originals toured. Probably because there are almost no bootlegs, unlike the Clarence-era group.
Re: New Byrds Book
Since there is so very little in print about the Byrds, I found the book to be very informative. Many of the photos are very interesting, including the shots of McGuinn and Crosby with Ricks other than Roger's trademark 370 and his early 360.
