Christmas Rock

Post by admin »

Each year this time I break open my Christmas Rock notes to get ready for the season. What is your favourite Christmas Rock song?

After all these years, I still get a kick out of Jingle Bell Rock.

A great vocal and some interesting guitar work too.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Not really for this section, but still.

Sheena: Well this clip from the Ramones seems to sum things up. :)

Check out "Christmas Must Be Tonight" from The Band. It was on their final LP, Islands in 1977. I think it's a great modern style Christmas carol. There is a video on YouTube but it doesn't show a performance. There is also a faster initial run through on the extra tracks for their Northern Lights LP. I had not known about this track until recently since I didn't get the Islands LP back in the day.
Just make the time to play guitar!

Here's a great song from one of my favourite "girl" groups. Ronnie has a great voice.

Scotty: Thank your for one of the most beautiful moments on the RickResource Forum. A potent reminder of the wonders of the universe and that our lifetime in comparison lasts only as long as the tail of a shooting star.

Those are great! I'll add something a little more recent, and speaking of getting the decorations up, I've always liked this video:

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
