I knew a woman whose maiden name was Dollar. All her cousins were named stuff like "Silver", "Shiny", and "Quarter". She had a more normal first name, however. If I post it, however, Google will beat a path to her door, so I'll refrain.

Top THAT!

I once knew a girl by the name of Terri Flux.

Our French teacher was Derek Merrick. We called him Sir.

Went to college with a guy named Eric Shunn.

I also used to work with a guy named Hugh Johnson. He was 6'6" tall and everybody called him "Huge"...because of his stature and also as sort of a play on his first name together with the initial of his last name. One day, a new girl on her first day in the office heard us keep calling this guy "Huge". She asked, "What's Huge's last name?" I said "Johnson". She looked at him for a second and then turned to me and said, "Yeah, I can imagine."

I met a gentleman name of Richard Head. He goes by Rich. Wonder why?

My wife worked for a couple of years doing customer satisfaction phone surveys. One night she came home giggling about having the unfortunate task of trying to interview a Mr. Waquar Butt without any inflection in her voice.

Honestly! Some parents!

In the string band I play in, we've developed over the years the gimick of assuming stage aliases that are puns. I use the name Chester Drawers. In fact I've had that stage alias so long, my band mates commonly call me Chester, rather than Jim. What's worse is that I always answer to it!

Not as hilarious as some others, but I know a guy named Rich Coffee. It's his real name. :o

A girlfriend and I once went to a party. There were name tags at the door, so I filled out two. I was "Sam Evening"; she was "Janet Evening".

Nobody got it until we were sitting together at the dinner table...

Many years ago, when I lived in Wichita, KS there was a legend that the Lear family, manufacturers of Lear Jet had a daughter by the name of Chrystal Shanda. This proved ultimately to be an urban legend. No such person existed in that particular branch of the Lear family.

My Dad (before he was my Dad - I was just a gleam in his eye then) dated a girl called Rosie Butts. She lived next door to the woman he eventually married (my mother, you nasty thinkers!). She cut him all sorts of **** about it for years.
