What price should i pay?
Re: 4001 white 1982: real or copy?
Welcome to the forum! Looks OK to me too.
Price? Well, pay as little as you can! Price depends a lot on condition and a lot of other things, it's hard to say really. I've seen 'em going anywhere from $1200 to $2500.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Welcome to the forum, Stef. I would also guess about $1400 to $1600.

Where are you? Stef sounds like a Belgium name to me. And on this (europe) part of the ocean prices are higher.stef wrote:yoohoo! What price should i pay?

Welcome Stef!
That's a great looking Rick, with wavy Grovers to boot. I agree with Joey and John's pricing, assuming there's nothing nasty happening with the neck.

+1. Sorry I didnt welcome you before Stef. This White Rick is a nice entry into the Rickenbacker Basses! I like the looks of this one. And I have not seen these black binding/chrome hardware white ones much before.doctorwho wrote:Welcome, Stef!
For the rest of this forum: Black binding/Chrome Hardware/Black Plastic. BB/CH/BP Just BB? I'm confused......

Bert, white 4001 basses usually had black body binding, black pickguard, black TRC, white neck binding and chrome hardware.
