Great shots Kira!

BTW: I think I saw three 4004lk's in his stand backstage at the hob anaheim.
How cool is that! (Come to think of it, isn't there someone in this forum who
owns three 4004lk's as well?) Sweet jesus!

Cheers!

When I saw Motorhead in late August, Lemmy had two Ricks that I could see.

Well, Finally I get to take delivery of the 1992lem and...It goes straight into the shop.

Low to no output. The fifty watter on 2 smoked the 1992 on 10...

This has to be a first for marshall: a quiet amp!

Sorry for the ****** pic. As soon as it returns, I'll try and do it justice.

Cheers all!

Joe

What do you mean by "1992 Lem"? They didn't start taking orders for them until 2001, and I think the earliest made were maybe 2004. Or are you talking about the amp? Inquiring minds want to know!

OK, got it. Kinda out of my area of interest, here. Marshall stacks. Yeah, if I had a couple of high-school offensive tackles to schlep them around, yeah.

Not!

I'm currently working on a replica of the 4001 that Lemmy was most identified with until the 4004LK came out. Unlike my other RIC customs, I'm doing all the work on this one myself. As far as autographed pickguards go, after Chris Squire signed the guard on my 4008CS, my wife mounted it in a frame along with other pics of Chris at the House of Blues. Sharpie doesn't last forever, so a new pickguard was made.

I know. When the bass is finished, many pics will be posted. Pics of my signed 4008CS can be found elsewhere on this site.

Hey aceonbass

How about a little "teaser" pic while it's in the works?

Cheers!

I've been slacking in my forum posting of pics lately, so I'm taking smaller file pics than can be posted here after dinner of the previously mentioned basses. I should have them up in the next 24 hours.

Here's one more of the 4003LK. I've tried to replicate the sanded/oiled/stained/waxed look of the original. The front has been routed so that the pickguard will sit flush with the surface and also to remove as much material as possible to see how light and resonant I could make it. It will have three pickups like Lemmy's, the rear most being an HB1 that's cut partially into the bridge pickup surround. I still have to do the oakleaf engraving/staining, make and stain the maple pickguard, and fab the Motorhead logo out of a decal backed clear piece of acrylic. It'll be wired with a volume for the bridge pickup, while the center and neck pickups go through a selector switch and a master volume. All of the hardware has been modified and re-plated.

Here's a shot of Lemmy with the bass I'm replicating....
