I know someone here would like this one...seems like it is priced right.

Jeff Rath converted one of these into a NICE 5ver!

Ya .. I saw that too ... these are nice basses ... I am tempted to buy it and convert it to a five string ...

They have a nice jazz bass like slim neck ... good pickups and it still retains a Rickenbacker sound ...

If anyone's interested, Spacetone Music in San Antonio had a 1993 Fireglo 2020 when I was down there a couple of weeks ago, didn't plug it in but it looked in EX condition. I think he had it at $595 but it had no case. No website but he does do mail order.

i think they are much closer to a 4004 in tone

I have a 4004, several 4003s, a 4001, and a 2030 ... I would say the 2030 is closer to an 80's 4003 than a 4004 ...

Someone here on the forum described the 4004 tone as a ****** off p-bass ... I agree with that ..

the 2030 is supposed to have active electronics ... except there is no battery ... there is no treble boost or bass boost ... but there is a curcuit board in there and it does sound somewhat different than a 4003 and a 4004 ...

hmmmm well i have either a 2030 or a 2050..it's the same as the 2050 on this site but no binding and has a unfinished frettboard. the bass pickup is very quiet and i need to get it repaired so i am not hearing its true tone i'm sure. I picked it up on ebay two years ago and was sold as a 2030..i'll do some digging and find out what model it really is...both my 2030/50? and my 4004 seem stronger in the mids department then low end like my 94 4003

Check the electronics. If it has the circuit board, its a 2030. If it has the standard wires and volume and tone pots, it's a 2020.
