Major bummer, dude. I empathize with you and your situation. Dirty rotten scoundrel(s) !!! It gives pause to the always good idea to have your musical instruments insured. Various options are available. Personally, I pay 250 cheeseburgers annually with Heritage Insurance Services for a boatload of instruments, amps, and accessories. No deductibles. Very few exclusions. I'm insured for theft and/or damage wherever the instrument rests (home, car, classroom, airplanes, trains, etc.).

Even though I'm two time zones behind you, I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled for your Ric in case it shows up in the L.A. area. Again, I feel your loss and hope your baby eventually returns to your possession. Keep on keepin' on, brah. Best regards.....Goofyfoot.

You are in the right place. The forumites here have the eyes of a thousand hawks. Not much gets past them. I've seen them use the ability to collectively, miles apart mind you, replicate timelines and dial in the current whereabouts of sold guitars from other frickin' countries! Rest assured, if it's out there....it will be like trying to sell a Monet on the sly.
Now for that new guitar: It is never a mistake to repeat the right decision.

...but a late-model Fireglo 330 is as close to common as Ricks get, so, any distinguishing features you can identify---any nicks or dings, or pattern in the wood grain---will really help people to figure out whether a 330 might be YOUR guitar. Pics would be really helpful.

Did you buy it from a shop? Maybe the shop you bought it from would have the serial number recorded, if you remember when you bought it.

Have you (or anyone you now) ever had to collect on this... aka had something stolen?

With the arrival of my (still unboxed 370/12) I'll be bringing something close to 7K worth of gear with me to shows and this would really ease piece of mind.

Any info would be awesome!

It's strange that this would work against me, but my 330 really didn't have any nicks or dings, except on the pickguard. If I find any good pictures of the grain (still putting things back together around here), then I'll post them, post-haste.

I bought it from a Sam Ash in Hollywood, CA, and three different people there told me that they don't track serial numbers.

That's very well said. Maybe I will wander down to a music shop, try out some 360s, see if any of them call out to me.

Also: Yeah, Goofyfoot, insurance is something that I should seriously think about. I'd been hesitant because I've had nothing but bad experiences with car insurance, medical insurance, etc. But it sounds like insuring musical instruments is an entirely different ballgame.

Lovecity.....Can't say that I have filed a claim as of yet. Knock on wood. However, I can say I have enough confidence in the VP handling my account that she and Heritage Insurance Services will come through with flying colors. Actual policy underwritten by the Hartford. Keep on keepin' on.....Goofyfoot.

I am so sorry for your loss and can relate after losing 6 guitars, an amp,a PA, and speakers to a theft.

Because of Peter and regestering my serial numbers, I got two guitars back within a couple of weeks. It all came down to serial number searches by local police department.

Peter's web site helped me prove ownership through photos posted, etc. This, and other musicians hate this happening within the community, so good luck and call the store you bought the guitar from. They may keep records. Good luck and may you get your guitar back.
