Buy it before someone else does
Yep, I would just wait until the Lollar horseshoe comes out and slap that in.Meanwhile collecting the other parts I need.
Actually, depending on what it goes for, I might not care if it's a Ric or not.I just can't see how they let that leave the factory.Unless, one of Mr. Hall's employees jacked it some years back.If that's the case, I don't want it.
How could this guy prove it's real anyway? No truss rod cover, no jack plate.

It does make one wonder. I'll be very interested in the seller's story. It's like a crocadile in the swimming pool.
If it is a '74 wasn't that during the max production years? My wife works for a furniture company about the size of Rickenbacker and they allow employees to buy overrun and unfinished stock (our house is full of it, I'm sick of it). Or maybe it is an employee's personal project that never got finished?
It is a shame that there is no jack plate or TRC.

I'm not a lawyer, but I would assume that the statute of limitations has ran out, and without it being claimed as being stolen who relly knows what the story is. It could have been a reject and was trashed for some reason. I do know of a mystery archtop Ric that was in the same condition that appeared two years ago at a Texas guitar show. It was a copmplete body and neck, but hadn't been drilled, maybe JH can enlighten us on this bass.
