yes that is fair assessment of the hog situation. ... ...

...and not only that.....it is nationwide problem of weird things going on with formerly normal guitar stores. i think they all love to hunt them on ebay and craigslist and then they all feel entitled to 100% (or more) markup. there is lot of bile coming towards ebay from those folks everytime i go to any store in person since ebay is such a great equalizer and they mostly hate how it contributed in major way to people being aware of the real prices on both ends - as sellers and as buyers. it seems that there are fewer people for those shops to prey on.

I was stunned by the prices when I was in HOG last spring. Stupid expensive.
I used to hear stories of guys planning trips to Rochester for the sole purpose of going there and getting great deals on guitars, but that was back in the late 80's, before guitar pricing went insane.

I have to send a big thank you out to Dusan! I had to chance to stop by and make him root through all his guitar cases in his weakened state! He even sent me on my way with a couple doors prizes! (Unfortunately the '68 4005 wasn't one of them! )

Thanks again!

Sounds like a great time with Dusan and a nice trip too. Let's hope one of the door prizes isn't a case of the flu! A case of Railbender is better, IMHO.

Jackson Music, as noted, is on Grand Island, which is only a 15 minute drive from downtown Buffalo. It is located on Grand Island Boulevard and is a store which rivals any I've been to. They always a huge selection of new guitars/amps, and it is always neat and tidy with well-cared for new stock. They don't normally have a large RIckenbacker stock---usually 3 or 4 guitars and a couple basses. I was in a couple months ago and they had 3 used Ric guitars, as well.

They are very good to deal with, and will come down a bit when asked. 100% family owned, as well, which is pretty neat these days.
