This one's not for sale!
I think ...I'm going to...*sob* cry...
Man, Andrew, that has to bee the purtiest thing I've ever seen!
Please, put me in line with the fellow forumites who are hoping and praying you'll one day want to part with that bass...

I'll play. Here's my May 1973. The inlays are not full width or sparkly, but it has all the other goodies and it plays and sounds great. And it will be buried with me.

No doubt!
Mine's a May '73 as well, and if these inlays sound different...well, I can't tell.
This is my favorite bass to play! Relatively inexpensive by today's prices. It's been used but not abused, and shows the signs... and I haven't owned a better sounding, better feeling bass. "I'm home."

But for many, myself included, the sparkleys are just so cool... I have to have a 4001 with them, too. :)
This is pretty mint and honestly - I'm afraid I'll accidentally hurt it...special occasions only. (I know, I'm a wimp!)
