4001v63

Post by brian »

Anyone know why the Blue Book valuations list the 4001v63 under limited edition basses ? Isn't this just a regualr production model that has been discontinued ?

You are correct. It is a "Vintage series" bass and it's edition was limited...

Fjestad's books are'nt always as accurate as we may like.

Missing colours, options and year of productions are common ommissions.

That's why we need this forum. Past/present/and possibly future RIC employees post here, as well as the Big Cheese-John Hall.

Can't beat it!

I believe they started producing in late 1984 to early 85. My V63 is a March 85 for wich I am the original owner and will be the only owner.

I had one made the first week of 2002 which is a year after they were discontinued.

I just purchased one that was made in 1991.
It has the horse shoe magnet and the cover has a split in the middle. Does anyone have an instruction/feature manual on this guitar. I love the contour body.

I believe that they came with the same one as all the other Rics, I could be wrong though.
