A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Ok, I've been waiting for this post. I would love to put one of these on my red 4004 II, but I dont want to trade in my original black / gold TRC.......Is there any way possible,.., short of hand delivering my original to Rickenbacker, for proof of ownership,to keep my original, but still purchase the gold one for my own personal custom Rick? I think it would look great, but I dont want to compromise the originality of my bass.......If not,...which I'm sure is not possible, does this mod deter from the value of the piece? Given Rickenbacker's strict exchange policy, I wouldnt think it would really make a difference.? Or would it????? I really think my bass is fine the way it is, but I think the gold backround with black lettering would really set it off.

RIC doesn't do exchanges for the gold one anyway, so I would stongly suggest you make sure you win this one!

I recently traded in my TRC from my 4004Cii for a white vintage TRC and it looks great on it. It is longer so it fills out the larger headstock better.

POR have a new 4003 in Turquoise with gold guard and TRC, and vintage-type knobs. A stunning combination.
