Wanted: Peterson VS-II tuner

Post by ozover50 »

Hi all.

I'm looking for a Peterson VS-II tuner for my home guitar 'workshop'. I know they have been superceded by the V-SAM but they go for $499 over here and even at $249 USD ($379 AUD) plus shipping it's just a litle too rich for my blood at the moment. Apart from that, US dealers aren't permitted to ship to Australia. I'm not really interested in a stompbox style Peterson because I don't need a mobile tuner - this is going to be strictly for home guitar setup. However, I'm open to advice and/or suggestions from those in the know.

I've had a bit of a look around eBay and there always seems to be one or two up there but definitely no international shipping!

Just wondering..... if any of you kind people find one (new or used) during your wanderings perhaps you could give me a heads up or if it's local sale only maybe we could come to some arrangement regarding payment, shipping etc. No great screaming hurry, either..... let's get the silly season out of the way first!

Yours in hope..........

H

Here is one.

Another option that I highly recommend for less new than the VS-II is the Stroboflip, and even nice tuner with more features, I think.

Thanks, Jeff. Saw that one last night.

Seems like the StroboFlip would do the job too but nobody in Oz stocks them as far as I can see and none of the major US retailers will ship them internationally.... aaaarrrgggghhhhh!!! :(

If I were to get it for you, do you have any idea about the shipping cost to send an approximately 3 lb. package to you?

+1 on the Stroboflip. Good buy for the shekels. Very exact, sweetened tunings for a 12, which can help; ability to program and save.

If you decide to accept the strobostomp in your search, there's one for sale here, used, for 175 canadian, that's about.. . 210 in Kangaroo dollars, plus shipping, that I could help you acquire.

Well, thanks to the very kind assistance of another member (you know who you are, Jeff  ) I have my StroboFlip tuner and what a nice little piece of kit it is!!

The mounting bracket that comes with it is great! I can put the tuner on my Hercules triple hanger stand at around chest height and not have to worry about peering down at the floor, dodging bad lighting or stepping on it! :)

This is just another example of the wonderful people here offering to help out - no matter how 'curly' the situation might be. And the eventual assistant wasn't the only one offering, either!!
