I'm in the minority ... I don't use any external signal processors, just the amp's reverb.

ooo, i like this thread. I don't use them all that much except for chorus, but I have

Boss PH-2 Phaser
Boss DS-1 Distortion
Visual Sound H20 (Chorus+Delay)
and a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor for occasional feedback

The only pedal I own is a JangleBox and even then, it's very seldom used.

oh this is fun. Thanks for the thread Hawksmoor.

I have used this effects set-up for the last few years, but have to admit that
with my new Ric, I find myself stepping on 'em a bit less than in the past..
I believe that players playing on 12 strings might be inclined to use fewer pedals?
I'm strictly a 6 string player.

all Boss
TU-15 Tuner
OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion
OD-2 TurboOverdrive 2 (awesome crunch pedal)
BD-2 BluesDriver(great for basic clean boost over drummer's din)
RV-5 Digital Reverb / CE-3 Chorus - depending on amps' features
TR-2 Tremolo
DD-6 Digital Delay

Amp-

Roland JC-90 (I love JC's)
Fender Stage 112SE ( a borrowed amp, but sounds great w/ the Ric)
Roland Blues Cube ( not so great w/ the ric )

JDog. I agree the rug "... really pulls things together." This a great room and a great space that is full, but never busy or fussy... Too funny.

Hey jdogricc, you have nice taste in amps. I like the Roland Jazz Chorus amps a lot, great clean sound. However, the nicest clean amp is a Fender Vibroverb amp I have heard but don't own. I was wondering how your Roland's compare to your Fender amp? What type of Fender amp was it?

When playing through an amp I'll go through my board, which usually consists of: Boss CS1 compressor, Schaller Volume pedal, ancient Jen CryBaby, Boss SD1 Overdrive, Behringer Super Tremolo (replaced my Boss PN2s which both went to a very profitable Ebay heaven), EH Big Muff, Arion (!) Digital Chorus/Flange, Ibanez Dual Chorus, an original MXR Phase 100, an extremely battered and dilapidated EH Electric Mistress Deluxe and finally into an Arion Digital Delay.
However, I tend to find that I keep the 12-string fairly clean, with a touch of overdrive for leadlines, and smatterings of delay (a la Mr Wilson-Piper).
When recording I usually go straight into the PC via a Presonus interface, and add effects to the track afterwards. Guitar normally gets the GuitarRig 2 treatment whilst bass goes through IK's Ampeg plugin. When I can be bothered I use my WEM Mk2 Copicat as a valve pre-amp but that's not very often. Occaisionally I will record the amped guitar sound along with clean one.
