had to share....

I was kinda not into the color, and of course if you guys remember, it was originally JG/BT refinned..(bad bad refin) to MG

but the more I have it, the more I like the MG (fake) BT scheme!

yes, it will stay the way you see it!

I am planning some upgrades, PLEK and hipshot come to mind

yes, it is my main stick...and I have a brand new MM 30th AV SR4 that I just picked up a month ago...that is more of a case queen, and doesnt leave the house.

the 88 ric gets the spotlight, and the call when needed to go out on the road! (hahahaha....usually no more than a 40 mile radius from home!)

I've always liked MG BT. That one looks pretty nice even if it's a "fake" refin...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

thanks!

I was gonna put it back to original--- JG/BT...but hey....

it plays well...and if I want another color, that is a good excuse to buy a black one!

the bass is a five footer....looks good 5 feet away, but when you get close, you can see the results of a bad refin hack job.

but, it has the ric sound, and plays very very well.

Nice pics. Here's one of me and the new 4001 PW just finished for me at the last date of The Shapes tour in London last Saturday.

Of course, you post just invites us all to post us now. See what you started ?

What's nice about a bass like that, is you can rock out with it and not worry much about dings and scratches. It's harder to see dings and scratches on a natural finish.

Gareth, thats a cool pic!

Nice axe man. And, you are right. From where I am sitting, it looks great! Really love the trim package.

You appear to be facing 45 degrees away from the rest of the band's collective direction... what gives, posing?

I really dig "vintage" looking MG basses. Yours reminds me a bit of one I saw Scott Reeder playing in a pic somewhere... cool bassist who got some dirty, grungy tones, well-suited to his band. But of so many Rickenbacker bass players I actually think his tone was one of the more "RIC" like in spite of all its mud... especially when you compare it to its P Bass forebear, which (and I have nothing against P Basses) sounded like a wet sponge hitting a wall.

josh.......

yah, it is actually a small club, and a small stage,

I didnt want to wack anyone in the head with the headstock!

and, it prolly looks even more 45 degrees, cuz my fiance was taking pics from that angle....

yah, lets face it...prolly posing! I was playing to the crowd more than anything

I was called up to play one song.....so I had to rock and roll as hard as I could! hehehe

yes, I am really really digging the color combe trim package combo....shows up good in photos too!
