Taking finish off a 330's neck
I wanted to know what methods are used to make the finish on the back of my guitars neck matte instead of glossy. I used steel wool on my Teles to make the back of the neck smoother and less sticky, but I feel since my Rick's neck is black I'll notice the scratches more than on the tele. Is there any solvent or compound to make the finish less glossy? Thanks for your help.
GEt some white Scotch Brite .You won't end up with iron filings all over and it will dull the surface nicely.
Solvents will only clean or remove the paint (depending on which solvent you use...so don't )
Compound will leave a mess to clean up .
4/0 steel wool is a good choice but the Scotch Brite is the least messy .
