Marhaba Metin!
Welcome to this great forum!
This is very nice to see a fellow player from the middle east, we are practically neighbors! (I am from Israel)
I really liked your band's song, I wish I could understand the words.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Welcome aboard, Metin! Very nice tune and bass playing of yours. :D

If I didn't misunderstand your initial post, the bass sound from the video was not of your 4003 JG. However, it sounds very good. May I ask what bass it was that you used to record the song in the studio? Amped or DI'ed or both?

Hi again,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. It seems rickenbacker love is universal, i am happy to hear you my friends all around the world.
I tried to explain that the sound you hear is not belong to my rickenbacker actually  Because when I record the bass line, my rick had not arrived from the USA.

I played with a franken jazz bass. Actually I am a P bass guy by heart but at that period I had only a jazz bass in my hands. It is weird and interesting story isn't it? The bass was a 77 maple neck and fingerboard, japan alder body, S. Duncan Antiquity II pickups and bad assII bridge. As well as a boss di, I used 2 mic (sm57 and neumann UA 87) in front of a fender rumble 100watt (15inches) combo amp. My signal chain is bass + di to the board and di line out to the ebs valve drive to the amp and mics then to the board.

I hope that answers your question. ı wish I had my 4003 arrived before recording, I have no doubt it would be much better.
Before, I was a p bass guy but now I love both Rick and P. In general, Jazz bass sounds thin to me, I prefer loud fat warm bottom end but also I love the grindy growly sound, this is why I love Rickenbacker. It produces that sound even if you do not use any effect pedal or tube amp and by it's original way. I do not think I can live without a Rick

Thanks, Metin, for the very detailed answer regarding the recording.

As they say, "The tone comes from the player", the good tone in the recording must have come from your playing...although I truly believe that the characters and personality of your basslines would sound even better with your 4003.

Very strong welcome Metin!

It's always good to get to see and hear other players music and ideas!

Your song sounded great and the Rick 4003 was looking the part very well!

I have a myspace site for a band my wife and I were in. The four songs uploaded are from a previous Original Rock Trio we had. I actually tried to get some of this music added to the lated RickResource Forum CD but was apparently too late.
Anyway, you may like it. It's not too different from your own style, with the same band format!

I'll see you at myspace. Please let me know what you think!

Garrett, click on User Control Panel above, then Board Preferences tab, then Edit Display Options on the left side, then make sure the Display Signatures is set to yes.

I spent my last hour for listening you myspace tunes. No joke. This shows how I liked the tunes. You have strong musical talent. I felt late 70's early 80's taste on your songs. I always listen songs as an ordinary listener first (because i have been an ordinary music listener always and forever i will be), then listen again as a musician.
I most liked the 3. song. maybe because of the dreamy guitar intro with fat chorus and then dynamic drum and bass and guitar lines. Reminded me the smiths whom I like very much. If you ask me what I do not like, the vocal technic of the singer too much 80's hard rock especially when she starts to scream.
I hope I didn't go too far to express my thoughts. :? It is not easy for me to explain myself in English.
Best;
Metin
