I've had my '67 4005WB since late in '73, but it was on "loan" to a friend for 21 of those years!

Hahaha
Well, I played a G to check if all the strings were in tune, a little adjustment here and there and it was fine.
(It did a 5000km trip to get here, Arizona to New Brunswick)
And then I plugged it is, figured out the controls and Chris nailed it, played that opening chord, don't know the name but I do x-3-0-2-1-3.
Played the whole song for my dad who was there infront of me when I opened the case for the first time.
Then I think I went through Till There Was you since it such a nice chord progression.

Overall I'm impressed by it, the neck wasn't a problem, I had never played a RIC in my life before this one, I don't know what people complain about, it fit like a glove for me!
But then again, I'm pretty young, I'm actually 17, possibly one of the youngest members here. I'm guessing...

Anyways I got some tunes to play :D

I've been a Beatles fan since very young, my dad made me listened to it when I was young a few years ago I picked up a few CD's we had and listened to them and I never touched anything else since, hehe.

But man does this guitar ever play nice...
I have a Vox Pathfinder 15R to go with it, sounds real nice on it.

I also have a Yamaha accoustic, and a Vantage Avenger electric (I bought it when I started off and wanted to learn heavy rock, quit for a few years untill I decided Day Tripper was a damn cool riff and I wanted to learn it.)

Hey, congrats, Patrick! Now that you have a Ric you'll never want to play anything else.... What model do you have? Your dad must be pretty cool if he "made" you listen to the Beatles! Image

I have a 1979 370 in Burgundyglo.
I really love it... It's pretty much perfect, I'll be posting some pictures of it later.

Yeah my dad showed me alot of the artists I listen to.

I humbly submit that the Day Tripper intro riff is perhaps the most brilliant riff ever in the history of the guitar. I was just wondering the other day - who plays it on the recording and what guitar is it?

That particular riff is what really got me playing the bass!! My two older brothers have played guitar forever, and when they'd play that song, it was always missing the bass.....

I don't want to be a curmudgeon, but I'd heard the Daytripper riff was lifted from a country tune! Which, I don't know.

Damn I had this huge post and it didn't work...
Since I have to re-write it it's gonna be alot shorter.

George is playing the lead on his Gibson ES-345. The solo was an overdub.
He had recently lost his second Country Gent. so he probably would've used that one for it if he had it.

Jerry, you're right the riff was based on another tune. I'm not sure how much of it is copied but I'll try to find the name of the song, I have never heard it.

Edit: The song is called Watch Your Step by Bobby Parker.
Edit2: Here, check this link, http://www.free-albums.net/albums-bobby%20parker-499404 click to listen to it, it sounds like it, but really different.
