I've seen the interview, and that is precisely what he says...that the 4001 was used on 'Limelight'.....cassius987 wrote:No no no. He said in a very recent interview with BPM or the late Bass Guitar that Limelight was the RIC--the interviewer asks him. If you need me to dig it up I will--it's somewhere at http://www.bassplayer.com I think. May be on YouTube--it was a video, and the part about Limelight didn't make the paper mag. As for YYZ, I can't say, but based on the tone I really think it's the Ricky.leftybass wrote:On 'Moving Pictures': Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight, Vital Signs and possibly Witch Hunt were ALL the '72 Jazz Bass.
The Rickenbacker was used on Red Barchetta and The Camera Eye....(maybe) Witch Hunt...
BUT, I believe that he committed a faux pas and that he misspoke. I stand by my statement, based on over 30 years of being a Rush fan, owning 4001s and Jazz Basses for just as long, knowing intimately how they sound and seeing Rush live on every tour for the past 30 years as well.
It is the black '72 Jazz Bass he has had since circa 1978.
