Joining the club

Post by JakeK »

The avatar I was sporting was from Kevin Kuney of a 1998 PT. This new avatar I sport is of Pete Townshend from The Who's music video for "The Kids Are Alright". Since a few people are changing their avatars, I thought I would, too.

C'mon now Jake, scanners were made to scan sheets of paper, not guitars.

Steps for changing your avatar:

1.) Polish guitar to perfection

2.)Go to closet, select and dress in hippest stage outfit available.

3.) Select suitable backdrop for photo

4.) Turn on digicam, place on tripod, or place on suitably raided height surface necessary to record image of self playing guitar and set timer

5.) Quickly grab guitar and strike suitably hip pose. Wait for camera to snap photo.

6.)Resize image file to 300KB or less, upload to RRF profile and set as avatar.

*Disclaimer: I was able to bypass steps 1-5 due to some snap-happy friends at gigs, so all I had to do was crop and resize one of the photo files that was sent to me.

Ditto! :D

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.

Just for the record...step #6 isn't quite right.
Resize to 100 X 100 pixels and it has to be less than 8k.
In Photoshop....using the save for web feature works the best.

What? How did I miss that? Is it 2004? Oh wait, man where have I been? Time does fly when you're having fun (or gettin' old)!

Yeah, I agree, bigger avatars would be nice. Disk space is amazingly cheap these days...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I want you guys to be able to see the pores on muh FACE!

...Just kidding, but yeah, of all of the sites I converted one of my recent pics into avatars for, this forum is the most restrictive. On facebook (yeah I'm on it... for shame) it's ridiculously big now.
