Your Rick Wish List For 2009?

Post by kiramdear »

I thought if everyone knows what everyone else is wishing for it may facilitate some wishes coming true.

Well, as good as 2008 was for me, I have still more needs when it comes to building up my stable. I have some other makers' names on my list but the first two spots are reserved for the following:

A 450/12 with toasters. This is a model that has eluded me since the early seventies when one of my heroes used it to lead me into my first professional music experience. My musical life will not be complete until I have one for myself.

A 480 with a thin neck and rickumbuckers. I need a good full-scale solidbody shredder and I think I'm sold on trying one.

With these two models and my 320 w/ hi-gainsI will have three kinds of rick pickups, too. I call that a nice menu to choose from.

2010: some modern humbuckers and some hot scatterwound toasters

So what's on you guys' and girls' list of new years' resolutions?

The 381-12 in AFG I've been awaiting for QUITE SOME TIME now.
And a 4003 in every COY that I don't yet have.

Nothing specific in mind; anything interesting that may come along.

Three:

1.) The safe arrival of the following guitar on January second, delivered by UPS:

I've been tracking it; the guitar arrived in Vernon, CA today, and is on its way to nearby Cerritos, but it's in a huge trailer with thousands of other packages, so I cannot go pick it up early

2.) The completion and safe arrival of the following WB conversion with CB & bound headstock in JG(far left guitar in photo)
December2008.jpg
3.) Earn enough $$ to buy another 330 and have the same type of WB conversion done in in a non-greening Blue Boy finish! :D

All I have my heart set on is a 360/12CW...once I get the money (possibly for my graduation), I'm sure this dream can be a reality.

A 360/12CW, my 1997 and my 660/12TP, all I'll need Ric wise

Famous last words?

As for me, unless something drops into my lap, no new Rics until probably 2011.

I'd really like a nice, clean, 330. Virtually any colour would do, but DG would be wonderful. I might even be prepared to sacrifice my 650D if the deal was right...

Next NEW Rick will be a 4003 MG with all the goodies which will include checkered binding and FWIs that sparkle. I've got quite a wait on my hands.

Oooooo, a Ruby S!! Nice indeed.

My wish list is for a 4003/5 MG, Black binding, black hardware, full width sparkle inlays. I think I'll be waiting for a LONG time on that one.

So, I'll settle for just getting the 4003MG I've had on order since March 2007...

There's a good chance that one might end up being a 5 string, even if it doesn't come from the factory that way...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Hmm,

My 4004Cii BBT would be nice. It's paid for, so that's probably it for 2009.

Other than that, a mid 70's 4001 FL in either ATG/WAL/FG/MG and a late 70's "S" set neck 4001, same colors.

A 480 or 481 has my eye, but not likely.

I'm really hoping RIC does a new COY 4003FL or some other kind of new bass. SOMETHING 381 or 360 style semi acoustic...nice and light! :O

4003FLs are on hiatus, unfortunately.

I want a 4000 and a 4002FL. May be able to swing a 4000. Doubtful I'll ever, ever, ever have a 4002FL to play. Do we even know if they ever made more than the one Ginger has?
