pleci TRCS: distinguishing between vintage and re-issue

Post by brycycle »

i was always under the impression that what distinguished vintage and re-issue plexi TRCs were the 3 periods in "U.S.A." found on an authentic TRC.

however, as i was looking at my collection, i have a 'stray' re-issue w/ that reads "U.S.A." another that reads "USA" but utilizes the same font as the first - and a third that appears to use a different font for the "USA" sub-text (1987 4001v63).

my concern is, that i purchased a stray TRC that is supposedly dates from the 60's - but how can i be certain it is of that era?

I'm thinking that, as with most things "Rick", stuff changes from time to time, seemingly at random, so trying to figure out dates by whether or not periods are present may be an exercise in futility...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
