Re: Cheap Trick
Wow. That's a good day when you can have that much Trick playing!
I got the Budokan box set / DVD for Christmas and LOVE IT. So nice to have that concert on DVD. I can finally get rid of my old VHS of it.
Plus it has "Can't Hold On" on it, which is one of my favorites.

Re: Cheap Trick
The debut album is one of my favorites of all time. It is so dark and raw. To me, Rick is one of the masters at placing the most tasteful little guitar licks (and noises) throughout a song and this album has some great ones. IMO, this album could easily hang with a lot of the grunge pop thats been out from the Seattle explosion to now.atomic_punk wrote:....the debut album (which I LOVE)...
Rick and CT have been a BIG influence on me and how I play. I still have and use my first Hamer checkerboard guitar strap, easily 20+ years old (my dear mom had actually sewn it back up for me in the past).
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

I sure do, John. The brand was Sakai and it was a complete POS. It belonged to my school and it was the communal bass everyone used. At least I had the opporunity to take it home every now and then and it was the bass I learned to play on. They come up on eBay every now and then.johnallg wrote:Darren - amazing. Don't worry Darren, a lot of us had identity issues at that age.
Thank God we grew out of them

Re: Cheap Trick
My first bass was a Crown. Reasonably good Fender - looking. Action? None. You could barely push the strings all the way down to the neck!
Sorry for the thread hi jack of a thread high jack.

Due to my current ipod playlist this has been stuck in my head for the past couple days (one verse on endless repeat). Thanks Kenny.

Re: Cheap Trick
Each stanza is repeated, actually (AA then BB), making it even more...well, dumb.
