4001 Project on ebay

Post by ken_james »

Nice route and trussrod cavity, not mention the ultra-rare position dots on the pickguard.

Have to admit as a project bass, it's better than that "blank" that was for sale.

Umm..everyone, keep your paws off!;-)

You're right. I'm waiting to hear from him about the serial number.I still might be interested. It's something I don't have to worry about ruining. The only thing is if Ebay makes him remove it.

As far as the shipping, I can pick it up.I don't think Edison is that far from me.

Why ask about the serial number? the fact that it only appears to have one truss rod in the bottom right photo should have been a dead giveaway :-). Also look at the slightly-too-small shiny inlays on that unusually dark fingerboard. Ibanez?

That routing is a giveaway too....doesn't look like any of the Ric basses I've seen under the pickguard.

That auction will probably come to an end as Ebay figures it out.

I just wanted to add that you guys save me more money keeping me from making foolish mistakes then I could save by switching to GEICO.

Cool lizard, but not as good as the Quiznos mascots.
I just heard from the seller, no input jack or serial, surprised? I've saved you money a couple of times Marc!

I love the spongemonkeys, but then again I liked the "so were you raised by wolves commercial as well". I think that the product actually blows, but what I really appreciate is that they were willing to think outside the Mad Ave concept.

Kendall, I appreciate the help. Hopefully one day I can learn enough to share that savings with others.

Truthfully, I'm still interested in the piece to play around with if it goes cheap. would love to get a truss rod cover that says "Rickenfaker"
