I agree. The suitcase, especially with the 4X extension cab is a much better choice. But that can't qualify as a small, light set up. PJB stuff is all heavy for it's size, IMO.

If I ever find myself in a band situation again, which I hope is soon, I'll be checking out those Markbass combo amps. My concern with them, is they are rear ported. Speaker cabs that are rear ported sound amazing when they are placed a few inches in front of a wall. Rear ported speaker cabs need a wall behind them to interact with. Too far away from a wall and they sound lost. Those Genz Benz Shuttle cab are also rear ported.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Ihave the so called Markbass mini-15 a 15 inch speaker-300 watts,39lbs.When on a gig i add the Mark 2-10 extension which translates to 500 watts. Basically run all flat and play with the 2 tube emulators.I do find this amp very bright.Ialso use a Fender 400-pro 2-10 along with its matching 1-15 extension, this sound i prefer but weighs a ton.For living room jams, a Fender 100 wedge@ 29 lbs. does the trick. I also find my 4003 very bright in the Mark, although that is perfect for Yes,Rush etc.

Well, the Walkabout is about 20 lbs more and twice the power of the flight case. You decide if it's worth it. In build quality & attention to detail, both things that are important to me, the Mesa is miles ahead of both the Markbass and Flight Case.

I agree as far as the PJB goes, but the Markbass gear is no slouch in the build department.

If 39 lbs is within your range, these look interesting to me. The BabyBlue type pre-amp has always been very toneful, with good eq options. I know current SWR is not looked upon favorably by some, but you can't please all the people....

MarkBass for sure, Ditto the Mesa- WlakAbout great, Scout, real great.

Phil Jones, I couldn't say; I used a GK MB150s for many years and really loved it, but today it would be considered underpowered (I didn't find that so)

One of my rigs is a Neo-Pak (8 lbs. the current Shuttles are way lighter-as if!)
with an EA Wizzy M-Line 12- about 35 lbs.
You should hear this! As a matter of fact was playing my Laredo thru it, and.....

Actually it dont have to be light, I can deal with 50 to 60 lbs, Im looking at a Genz Benz 3.0-10t 175 watts at 8ohms 300 at 4 ohms, but cant seem to find any user reviews, been to all my local Sam Ashes and G C. and not a one to be found and tried, I am also looking at Ampeg rockets both B100R and B220R, some Edens, Even Fender Rumbles, I like the Rumble with the 210's, SWR's, Im in no hurry and Im not gigging out just looking to get a combo to toy around with.

Angelo, you should check out the amps forum at Talk Bass, there is a whole lot to keep you reading for weeks about Genz Benz Shuttles, and anything else you are looking into.

So true-
When the Shuttles arrived, there was and still is a spate of postings about them...and everything else for that matter.
Right now, the buzz among other things concerns the Genz-Benz Shuttle 12.0 ; 2-Channel 600-watt 3-lbs, Holy Smoke!

ANd EA has a new more powerful I-AMP. Crazy good stuff, and not easy to choose either.

Ok after going back and forth pulling my hair out trying to make a decision, I decided to go with and buy the Genz-Benz STL3010T Shuttle combo, 175 watts at 4ohms, 300 watts at 4ohms, just add extention 10" cab. Amp only wieghs 18lbs total, light compact and easy to transport and has good tone, cant take it to the shore with me this summer, take it to the firehouse on nights I want to play there, etc, so thats the choice I made, thanks everybody for your opinions and thoughts on all the small combo's you guys suggested, I always appreciate and respect what you guys have to say, have a safe and pleasent week, "HAPPY RICKEN"

i know i'm too late but i recently baught an ampeg b112 and like it very well. @ 40lbs & 50 watts, it's just what i was looking for.i use it mainly for practice and jams. i can be easily be heard over 2 guitars and a drummer @ half volume and the tone is vercitile.
