Anyone want to trade a es-335, 355 for a 360/6?

Post by chawkie »

Hello all,

First time poster here, wanting to trade a Midnight Blue Rick 360/6 for a hollow body Gibson (335, 355, etc). I love my Rick, just isn't really my style right now as I am more in the Alt Country mindset (think Ryan Adams, early Wilco, etc). Posted to craigslist in my area, but haven't really gotten many good responses. I thought I would go to the place for Ricks and see if I got any bites.

If I can't trade it, no problem, I am happy keeping it. Just wanted to throw it out there.

It is mint minus a slight nick on the headstock.

Check out the pics and let me know.

Thanks!

Welcome! If the 360 isn't working for the country stuff, you might want to try a 650 series Rickenbacker - solidbody with humbuckers. Good luck!

A 360 should be great for alt-country!

It is just not quite getting the sound that I want, although I do love the guitar. Like I said, I am cool with keeping it, just wanted to throw it out there.

Thanks

Welcome, Charley! What amp are you using with the 360?

+1!!!!!

We've got a player with a beautiful Gibson 345 in the band, but give me a Rickenbacker every time for that alt-country sound.
If you can afford to, keep both! :D

Hey Charley, before you do anything radical, get a load of this:

There's a Rick 12 string in the band.

Oh yes.

And we've got television too.

There's some great alt-country stuff around, I'm discovering new stuff all the time. :)

I use Rickenbackers almost exclusively in my alt-country band. Really surprised that it isn't working out for you!

You say the 360 just isn't getting quite the sound you're looking for? If you can explain what that sound is, maybe one of us can give you some tips on how to achieve it with a Rick.

What gauge of strings are on it? My guess is that if it's set up for 11s, that will not work, and maybe go slightly lighter, like 10s.

It's a beautiful guitar, BTW :)

Why would you say that, Jake? I use 11's and 12's on my Ricks, doing alt-country.
