I used to have 3 pairs of bowling shoes...... Black/White(chisel toe) - All Black(Round toe) - All Grey(Chisel toe). Never had the Red/White/Blue ones though.

2 pairs of black and white 'gibsons'. Mine had the 'pique' white top like this and not the smooth.

1 pair black and white 'Jam' shoes.

Then I moved onto the white Levis and black tassled loafer look of the early Style Council era.
Used to think I looked the mutts nuts.
Not sure about wearing them now that I'm of a more mature age. :)

They are murder!
I always buy a too-big-for-me large, then throw it straight into the washing machine for a couple of spins.
Hey presto! A nice new medium size Fred Perry with no further shrinkage.
The only problem is colour fading on the darker colours. Bah!

Eehhh now we're talking shoes and Perrys !

I only had the all black chisel-toe bowing shoes from Shelley's. I wore the perforated top black and white gibsons to The Jam at Shepton Mallet (a cow shed venue) - they were wasted. I still have the white Levis and they (damn near almost) fit, but wearing them now looks like Quentin Crisp on his night off. :(

I seem to remember bowling shoes as being tres comfy - what are the new ones like Scotty?

Haven't had a pair of loafers for years, but Bass Weejuns and Sebago are still nice, if you can get the slimmer looking styles http://www.asos.com/Sebago/Sebago-Kerry ... ebago&sh=0.

Yeah, loved the TSC look, Beneton(?) jumpers round the shoulders, blazer, pastel socks. I used to carry a copy of the MJQ's Django under my arm - what a door handle. Vibes...NICE.

Them wer grand days.

Any pics you dare to share?

If they shrink - your wash is too hot!

I got a nice monkey jacket in their sale, navy with red/white/blue trim.

Hey man, I've been a costume designer for 15 years so I know how to wash a shirt!

Pictures? Possibly.
All the family photos went to my eldest sister a couple of years ago after both my parents passed away.
I'll get onto her to see if she can send me any.
Should be entertaining in one way or another! :)

Just found this one.

A very young and thin me, with me old mate Weller.
This was taken in 1983 at his birthday party at Solid Bond studios, I'd just started working at polydor.

Note the dodgy 'ski' jumper, a la 'The Bitterest Pill' video.
