Kay ThinTwin RI at Musicians Friend

Post by octagon »

I hope the new Kay reissues are closer to the originals than the Harmony reissues are. They have the Kay Bass also.

SWEET! Kelvinator headstocks, too!

A bit pricey, though!

Wow! I have a (small) collection of Kays and the reissues at MF are mutants. The Thin Twin model did not have a Kelvinator headstock. Plus I have never seen a bass version of the Thin Twin -- though that doesn't mean it isn't out there somewhere!

Jay Scott's book on Kay guitars, "The 50's Cool -- Kay Guitars," is apparently out of print. I have a copy but the book itself is pretty sketchy, written tongue-in-cheek and not well organized.

Is there a good current book on, or website devoted to, Kay guitars?
