Acoustic Rickenbackers

Beside our illustrious cohorts on the RRF, can we think of anyone well known, as in famous celebrities, who own/play/have owned/have played/record with/have recorded with Rickenbacker acoustics? The factory's or P.W.'s?

But I would not feel so all alone....

Purely out of curiosity, I'd love to play one somewhere. I wonder what they feel like, sound like; Youtube videos notwithstanding.

It seems the whole Ricky Nelson-Sam Cooke thing were factory photo ops, and the two artists never actually owned the guitars in question...I'd love to see some video of either playing a Rick acoustic.

A friend (who handbuilds incredible custom bicycles) and I are going to have a gallery showing of bicycles and guitars later this year, here in the SF area, and I'm going to request that some of my acoustic customers lend their instruments for a month for the exhibition. Yours, being so unusual, is at the top of my list, Jerry...

I'm keeping it under wraps, Brian, unil NAMM. Jerry should be the first to see it.

I'm also bringing one more newly-completed acoustic to NAMM.

I'll post pics of both later this week.

I wonder if the same is true in the Blue Period video by The Smithereens ... Jim B. is playing some sort of RIC acoustic in it. If I can get a screen shot of it I'll post it.

Yes, the 390 from Blue Period is the Rick Nelson guitar.

I hope it is in the Fall, as we are thinking of coming out to SF and Monterey, perhaps in October.
