I like the last line in the news, sounds interesting.

If you read those words a few times, the meaning becomes less and less clear . . .

"plan" = we're just thinkin' about it

"some additional products" = well, there's guitars, basses and -- the RIC Boutique offerings are looking a little sparse . . .

"might be considered" = (How tentative can we be and still say something?)

"Overlap"? That's the real teaser! What's behind the curtain?

I would get a big laugh if the new models looked like this....

I doubt they'll have recovered sufficiently from the shock by then to post anything...

I was reading Ron's post (above) and then was wondering, what if they just release the horseshoe for public sale? You have a lot of the makings of the old 4001 if you swap the pickups in a modern 4003. The 4001C64 was already using the 4003 body shape and the new 4003s have the walnut wings. Also, could they mean the 325C58 was being overlapped by the C64?

Hmmm...maybe they should just issue the S series again and not worry about vintage  NAMM-time is always fun.

Personally I would be happy if RIC would simply start making the VP and VB options available again. Unfortunately I think this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. It is probably less disruptive to their manufacturing process to introduce an entirely new model than to go back to the 'exceptions' which these options would present. They have recently modified the fingerboard inlay so that it is a different material, and is full width. Maybe they will also return to the 'checked' binding on their deluxe models. This would be a very nice touch to complement the appearance.

Not yet, apparently.
John Hall hinted that there was something new in the works and that only 3 people knew what it was, he said even Kenny didn't know...
