That looks like old school flame, much more like the wood that you see on some 60's models.

Good to see some classic maple finding it's way onto a 4003 run.

Here is an interesting question. Just what does become of the fabulous instruments which Rickenbackers uses for their exhibit at the NAMM? Obviously they bring some of their best work......as seen by the flamey 4003FG pictured earlier. Are these used later to fill existing orders? Or do they find themselves in the hands of insiders, company employees, celebrities, etc?

My question is do all NAMM display instruments have serial numbers?

I think they are sold to fill orders, yes? A forumite has the NAMM 1996, if I recall correctly.

I bought a Trans Green 4004Cii that was at the RIC display several years ago ('05 model bought in '06 IIRC). It was shipped to a dealer a few weeks after NAMM and I bought it shortly after.

This is one of the nicest basses from the 4001-4003 family I have ever seen. Awesome. What a beauty.

+1. What a great looking instrument.

You are correct. I have a Mid Blue 350v63 that was at the NAMM show last year.
