New RIC bass copy

its interesting how much this bass will be available at ebay..

and i liked the bridge.

also, I'm sure that this been discussed a lot, and i do not want to beat a dead horse, but i really think that this is unfortunate that Rickenbacker does not have it's own low price line, their own "squier" or "epiphone" brand.
certainly after the prices raised and the economy dropped.

i am sure that i would buy one, one day.
i have my original Ric 4003 and i love it, but sometimes i feel scared to take this expensive and shiny instrument to gigs or rehearsal. i prefer to take something simpler and cheaper, like my mij fender p-bass.
if only there was a mij or mim or mik Ric.
and for sure the young and poor musicians would benefit from a move like that, and Mr Hall would count lot of money and the waiting list will shorten.

Please don't take it personally, but it AIN"T gonna happen, not as long as Mr. Hall owns RIc.
I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say that. It's been made clear, time and again.

Also, for the type gigs you mention, heck, I'll take a RIc, I'll take my Rics anywhere we happen to play. So far anyway, we haven't played anywhere where I'd be concerned about it's safety; of course everyone's different.

Ron Singer, I don't know about the other search engines, but I got this search string from a forumite years ago, and it helps find a lot of international sales:

But sometimes, a few US eBay Ricks slip through this search as evidenced by other forumite's finds that don't show up when I use this search. Don't know what in the string does that.

Weird, huh?
Guessing; one -or the other- must be bridge height adjust, but the other...? At first I thought the allens were to secure the bridge to the TP, but I dunno.

Also, unless screws are hidden, there appears to be only two screws attaching the TP. Gotta wonder about that.

Dude, I take my 1972 4001 to rehearsals and hopefully, soon - to gigs, what's the point of having an instrument you like if you don't plan on using it...?
Just keep it in it's hard case and keep an eye on it (especially on gigs)

I think the four allen screws in the corners of the bridge are for height adjustment just like on Rick guitar bridges and the thumb screws are to lock the bridge down after making the height adjustment. It does look like a separate part just like RIC bass bridge/tailpieces are two parts. Maybe there are more mounting screws under the bridge.

A Rick makes a nice thing to swing if you have to..."control an audience". I've never had to do it but I threatened it several times.
The Hamer did get an overzealous fan off of our lead singer once. No charges were filed, however.

I sympathize with the eagerness of youth, but I was eighteen once with empty pockets and a fire in my belly, and none of my guitars were copies. For me and my friends in the seventies, playing a copy guitar made you look childish, and no decent bands used them. Even though times have changed and some good copies are being made, they still don't appeal to me for the same youthful prejudice remains inside me. It just wasn't done by good musicians. That was the general feeling about it from my peers, anyway.
