Re: Couple of questions
Don't know about the nut, but for the fret board, try a search here for scratch-x and zymol.
Hope it helps some.

Re: Couple of questions
When I change strings on my 4003, I always give the board a fresh waxing with zymol, the same as I use on the rest of my guitar. Any fretboard cleaner I have ever used on other, unfinished boards is not suitable on my Ric.

Re: Couple of questions
The fretboard of my V63 has a different finish than the fretboard of my 4001.
I wonder, what do you guys use to the clean the fretboard of your v63/c64?
Anyone, please?

Re: Couple of questions
Hi Philip,
I've always used a simple guitar polish - I bought a Gibson pump pack about 5 years ago and it's only half used..... I spray it on a soft cotton cloth, rub it on, and use a dry cloth to wipe the fretboard down.

In what way is it different? I would have thought the finish to be the same; maybe it's the age difference that make them not look the same.anoukane wrote:The fretboard of my V63 has a different finish than the fretboard of my 4001.
Re: Couple of questions
I thought I read somewhere that a 4001/4003 has a different fretboard finish than a v63/c64. My mistake
So this will do the trick?

If anyone has advice where to buy a new nut, don't hesitate to tell me
Cheers.

Re: Couple of questions
Philip
the fretboard conditioner by gibson (or other similar products) is for the natural wood, not for painted fretboards
you can polish the fretboard of your rickenbacker using the same product you use for the body
even the classic Johnson&Wax Pronto (that one used for furnitures) applied with a soft cotton cloth will do a perfect job
