The other thing I liked about "That Thing You Do" is that it crystalized the personalities of the band members in such a way that The OneDers were recognizable as being every band I've ever been in. You had the Party Boy, the Self Absorbed Creative Genius, the Smart Kid, and the Dumb Kid.

I ponted this out to a friend of mine who's something of a film buff and he asked me "So which one are you?"

"I'm sure I've been all four at some time in the various groups I've played in," I replied.

This.

Friends told me I should have been in this movie. The tours I have done were a cross between Spinal Tap and Hard Core Logo.
Here it is online: WARNING Language, violence, adult situations and loud music.

Bruce McDonalds earlier effort Roadkill is also a really good rock & roll movie.

Thanks Greg, you made my day!! Tourings glamorous, ain't it-ha

The Last Waltz is by far my favorite concert movie, maybe closely followed by Pink Floyd's Live in Pompeii.

As far as movies made about Rock and Roll, I would have to go with Walk the Line.

Chloe Webb playing Nancy in "Sid and Nancy" should have won an academy award for being the single most obnoxious female role ever put on film. Here's a challenge, find a more obnoxious and grating female character on film. I read the real Nancy was easily 10 times worse.

Best line of the film:
"I look like Stevie f***ing Nicks!"

Close second: "But what about the farewell drugs?"

Eddie And The Cruisers !!!!!

I can't remember much about the movie, but the music was good.
