Wanted: Electro ES-17 Truss Cover and Pickguard

Post by wilco »

I just picked up a 1972 Electro Es-17. However it is missing the truss cover and the pickguard may not be the original although the guy I bought it from said it also originally had a clear rickenbacker truss rod cover when he got it. He said after the years it cracked and wouldn't go back on. Serial # is LA 051.

Howdy Brian, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new purchase.

The truss rod cover is almost impossible to find. I've seen one or two come up on eBay in the past five years. It's not the traditional Rickenbacker truss rod cover shape either.

Have a look here for a similar example: http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDe ... em=1974695

You could try Pickguardian for a replacement pickguard. Highly recommended by many Forum members: http://www.pickguardian.com

I'd also suggest posting in the "Wanted" section of the Forum. You'll need to log on in order to view this section.

Good luck with the hunt. You never know...someone here might have just what you're looking for.
