At last . . .
. . . my Blueburst has come along. Nice and flamey with interesting grain, too. This one has the "unfinished" fretboard (maybe there's a semimatte sealer?). Still haven't determined if that is the current standard of if they still make some with the varnished fretboards?
Now I can rest after 1,131 days of waiting. No more on order at this point.

Wow! Looks great, and it's good that it was worth that wait!bassduke49 wrote:. . . my Blueburst has come along. Nice and flamey with interesting grain, too. Congratulations Paul,
Wow, I like it!
Sweet grain and the burst looks pretty nice as well!
I wonder why RIC went with the unfinished board....how's the neck, feel, sound etc....
Like the DCM's, looks like I'm one of the last to get one.

Haven't plugged 'er in yet. Tell you the truth, my ear is not as sophisticated as others out there. Some call the Cheyenne "darker" -- hell if I know. They all sound pretty much alike to me when I play 'em, unless one has rounds and the other flats. I'll have to handle it some more to get the feel of the neck. It's been a while since I played my Cheyenne I or Laredo, so they all will feel "different" after playing the 4003s and 4001V63s in the collection.

Re: At last . . .
The Cheyennes are truly gorgeous, I'm happy for you, but prolly not as happy AS you!
I saw the Chey's up-close and in-person a the Ric booth- and wow-
The "sandwich" effect from the sides, the grains, the gold hardware-
They belong in a jewel box..
NO!
They belong out front, in the mix, in-the-pocket, on the stage, strings ringing out-
R-I-C-K-E-N-B-A-C-K-E-R'
C-H-E-Y-E-N-N-E
SO you think I could borrow your bass for a little bit, say maybe 1,130 days??
Naah- Good on you- Congrats and Enjoy. WHAT a bass!!

Nice one, Paul. Sounds like you counted the days.
But how about hours, minutes, seconds?

Then it would end up sounding like the opening number from Rent. Hey, I only know this because my sister made me watch it.jingle_jangle wrote:Nice one, Paul. Sounds like you counted the days.
