Which was it again?...the early '90s had the thinner necks?
Something else for me to obsess about now, thanks a lot!

Resistance, for me, was futile. I have joined the ranks of those afflicted with RAS.
Mike, look for a '91-'92. I believe it will have everything you want.
Thanks, Kevin!

The 4001V63 has always been my favorite Ric bass. I've never played one, let alone seen one, but it would be nice if I got to see one in person. I wouldn't doubt it was possibly Ric's best achievement bass-wise, and it is iconic, a true replica of the RM 1999, frequently used by Macca and Squire, along with (not so much), Entwistle and Quaife.

I'm sure Entwistle owned a V63 (if he didn't, shame on him) and he probably found it better than the RM 1999 that died on him.

The V63 may have died in 2001, but it will never be forgotten!

My '99 4001v63:

Sure, it may have a chunky neck and a large headstock, but I don't care, I still love it! :D

The V63 is a sharp looking bass. I'd love to get one some day.

my '93 mg,purchased from a forum brother....this is the heaviest and thumpingest-sounding of my ricbass entourage.....i love it! it has a nice sized neck and the longer headstock. i am wanting to put some flats on it,but the rotosounds currently on it sound pretty dead (and good!).

My story too, Woody. Heaviest and thumpingest, also.

My favorite.

Hands down.

I love the 4005's and Shadows.....but there is something about the v63's.....I've owned 3 mapleglo's, 3 fireglo's and one seagreen.

I've regretted selling them all.....but now I have one, ONE....and I play it everywhere and I love it....
