God, any Rush/Geddy Lee fans would love that thing plugged in through a 4003 (with Push/Pull pot) or a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass. I don't play bass...so I can't buy it...my bass playing buddy has no dough, or enough ear power to handle a stack...

I saw Model 200 at NAMM-
Ordered Today.

I will be so happy when it comes in about 4-6 weeks-
Henry has been telling me how he designed it to the parameteres of an old BlueLine that he has.

I gotta say I could not STOP thinking about having this rig when I saw it and talked with him- (4) KT-88's ya gotta love that.

fantastic! Being a bass player myself, the bass amp is one that is close
and dear to me. I've have the opportunity to play through all sorts of
rigs throughout nearly 30 years of playing. The one amp that still gets me
going is my old 1970's Blueline SVT I have in the shop. When I went about
designing the Jaguar 200 I figured there was not point in just issuing
'another' bass amp. It had to be good, 1970's SVT good and I wasn't going
to offer one until I got there. As said once by the venerable founder of
Groove Tubes, Aspen Pittman, "playing through a properly set up SVT is an
experience you won't soon forget" Indeed.

I think the Jaguar 200 captures all of that glorious thump, punch and
warmth of the old SVT but with better clarity and detail.

Besides the fact that naturally I'm a happy camper (Mine's going to be covered in Tolex called "Rough Blonde" )

It's about Ampeg- I dig AMpeg alot- and of course it's been getting a beat-down ever since LOUD moved offshore, and as a matter of fact even before that.
"Underpowered"
"Mud"
"False RMS ratings"

Are some of the **** I've seen "players" talk about.

My Ampegs have earned me a living, and also- I've seen an awful lot of great players WORKING with theirs, and I don't just mean backline.
The fact that AMpeg MAY go away-real soon- bums me out.
The Book "The Story Behind the Sound" is incredible with some pictures and history that EVERY bassist should check out-
BTW I am WAITING for my RICKENBACKER books as we speak.

$1500 is a good price IF that head is working- Legacy or nto, unless you're experienced or a tech (or both) buying a vintage or used tube amp could be trouble, if it hasn't been cared for well- Biasing, transformers, caps, so much to look at.
OTOH- Once they are set up- IMO nothin' like 'em.
I have (2) a SLM V4BH which is magnificent and a Mesa-Boogie 2x10 BUSTER Bass combo which- wow, just wow.

Keeping (trying) for a track here, The Rics -and I am new to 'em) Have not been run thru my tube rigs yet, the V4BH is primarily for recordings double-miked, and the Buster is a PITA to move; so it's for stage, but through my "representation" Hybrid-wise of an SVT- the 3-PRO and my Classic Ampeg cabs-
My new 4003 is like Heaven itself, and I do not exaggerate- First time I set eq and did it-
Lord.
How Good.
Giggin' it next Thursday cannot wait.

The Used/Vintage CL head would not be my thing particularly, but AMpegs most def are- and do yourself a treat-
