I/We am/are nearly famous

Post by royclough »

Decided to give BFTP a rest but missing the weekly thing so we'll see if any response to this.

In 1976 Cliff Richard released a album called I'm Nearly Famous an album that really revitalised his recording career and also one track on the album gave him his biggest hit ever in US.(Devil Woman)

So that's the theme of this new bit of weekly fun, for those interested, apparently 1 0r 2 missing their weekly teaser.

All acts features as usual found fame in either late 50s or certainly the 60s though in some case the fame lasted and still does well beyond that period but as this forum is all about the 60s mainly with some 50s we'll stick to that theme.

These are all early recordings by acts that went on to have hit records, in some cases these tracks would never have seen the light of day but once they made it, records companies realised they had something by them and tried to cash in.

So hers is NF1

Only clue first hit in early 60s but went on to have a number of hits in US and UK. At time of this recording he was just the lead singer in his brothers group.

Usual rules send email to [email protected] or through the forum message service

Tricky! I know who it sounds like, but the dates don't match...
Great idea for a contest/puzzle/whatever, Roy.

With fingers crossed, I have submitted my guess, Roy. Sorry to be so late with my entry.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

About half who had a go correctly identified Bobby Vee though a few needed the second guess.

Appreciate these in some cases will not be easy but we'll persevere for time being.
