Ouch! That is breath taking. Most FG's I have seen are average, at best. Basically, I don't like the ring around the outside that is common with many. Your's is blended nicely!! AFG for me.

I'll vote for the new Fireglo.

My vote goes to the newer dark-edges AFG.

I vote for the AFG (see my avatar for one reason why :D ), though there's no doubt in my mind that the new FG's look much better than the older ones.

I like the AFG on the body if they get it right but I do not like the AFG on the inlays.
The white guards and binding clash terribly with the relic looking inlays on the AFG.
Works better with the 330 than the 360.

The honest-to-God truth is I really didn't care what color the darned thing was when I ordered it. I just wanted a Rick 360 12 string. So I ordered FG. The only reason I didn't order MG was because I didn't want to be pegged as just another McGuinn copycat. Turns out that FG was a fantastic choice. I love the new shades coming out.

I'm all over the new FG.

There was a 360FG in the NAMM booth that had drool-DNA from a few hundred people on it...

I love both. I have a 370/6 AFG, as well as a 360/6 and a 381v69, both of which are in 2007&2008 versions of FG and all are outstanding. I love the look of the yellowed binding on my 370AFG. I'm not sure I would have described it as an attempt to emulate age - IMHO it stands on its own simply as what it is - a COY.

There's a beautiful photo of a 370/12 FG on the Pick of The Ricks website - it actually looks like AFG. Check it out!

dpowell wrote:I like the older AFG best as it looks the most like vintage fireglo. The new AFGs are just too dark, and look more like Autumnglo to my eyes.

Old AFG left, new AFG right (apologies to the owner of the photo):

That being said, the new FGs, aside from the first few of 2008 which were too pink, are really nice-looking. They've really gotten the pink out of the center in the newest formula.
Dan, if you look at Wints old FGs, that have aged naturally, they look dark like the right one.

That may be true, but take a look at these 1996s: http://www.geocities.com/vintage325/325_3.html

Ain't that the truth!

Sorry to "quote" the photo again, but I can look at this one all day too...
