NGD! Latest addition to my Rickenbacker Stable!

Post by rsm »

Brand-new, Rickenbacker 370 in blueburst. These pics are from the dealer, I will update with my pics (just received it, can't play till the later tonight when the kids are in bed!) I didn't like the blueburst at first, but I looked at a Midnight Blue 620 and it grew on me, though I got the 620 in fireglo, I wanted a blue Ric - I like the BlueBurst even better than Midnight Blue.

Richard, that's a nice one! You have the added bonuses of toasters and Full Width Inlays. Not too many Bluebursts were produced with that combination of features! :D

It's fantastic, but those aren't toasters.

Thanks everyone! Just pulled out the warranty card - manufactured: 09/2008. Here are a few more pics:

http://web.mac.com/a_chaoidh/iWeb/Site/370.html

The pics were too big to post here, sorry had to use a link (there are pics of my 330 and 620 here too; and placeholders for the Rics on order and things I haven't photographed yet!)

The outdoor pics are from the dealer. Indoor pics are mine.

Peace.

Now to play her!

Hi Richard :D

Congrats on the 360.

Does it sound as good as it looks ???? :)

Shane,

Sounds as good or sounds better than it looks, or...well, its all good - looks and sound IMO ;) The set-up is top notch too, it proved to me that I was correct that I need to have my 620 set-up professionally (I'll be doing that this week or next). This 370 plays like a dream compared to the 620 right now, if I can get my 620 set-up like this....woooohoooo!

Peace.

I think a BBR 370 with FWI will be a rare guitar. Some day in the future on this very forum, I bet someone will post a picture of it as a "transitional" instrument. 2008 Serial Number, COY from 2005, FWI (introduced in 2008), and a 370, (discontinued in late 2007)...anything I'm missing?

Wow! I did not realize this? You mean, I may have actually (finally!), gotten lucky with a GAS purchase?!

I had a 360 MG on order from the dealer. I originally contacted them regarding a 370 and learned they were discontinued, which is why I ordered the 360. Then I noticed this new 370 BBR in their inventory - because it was a 370, and I wasn't really thinking blue or blue burst, just a new, in-stock 370. I looked at the small pics, and it was really the full shot of the back that struck me - it grew on me until I realized: I liked the BBR - so switched my order from the 360, and took delivery of this. Stuff like this never happens to me, not saying I have a dark cloud over my head or anything. If anything I'm blessed, though serendipity is not common - I'm usually a day late and a dollar short, if you know what I mean? ;)

John, and everyone else, thanks for pointing out how unique this guitar is or may be or may become. Now, I'm starting to get nervous about playing it!

Peace.

Great looking burst, but as someone else mentioned....those are high-gains...not toasters.

Congrats!
The RIC factory must have produced a few of these this past fall as one of our local dealers had a nice looking 370MG at the Detroit guitar show last Nov.
