Let's see, serial # MF=June 1973. Got it right, only a couple hundred off from my FG, but no checkered binding (think I'm going bland). Non-Grover tuners and what looks like a Univox case. Shedua stripe, rosewood fretboard and profile looks right though, what can it be?

I don't checkered binding either. Maybe the second letter is not really"F".

That is surprising to see no CB on a June bass.

May-June 73 was a transitional time, I've seen a fair number of 73's without chequered binding.

The checkerboard binding was gone around Sept. '73. June is a bit early for plain white binding but everything is possible. Could be a September bass with a June jack plate.

looks real to me . It does have changed tuners though. They look like the ibanez rick knockoff tuners.

The fretboard seems to be a bit dark..........that and the tuners are not original and it has a Badass bridge and that's not a Rickenacker case. Are you guys absolutely sure it's a Rickenbacker and not just a faker with Rick plastic and jack plate?

Would a June '73 have a white nut? The EA side headstock wing looks odd, too, not straight but angled join line.

I don't know, I'd sure want a look under the TRC and at the routing under the pickguard before I'd think about buying that one.

Perhaps there's a reason he has such lousy pictures...

I thought the fretboard MIGHT be a bit dark, and that is definitely a style of fitted case commonly found with fake Ricks. I'm not saying this is fake for sure. I'm just saying I'd want to see better pictures if I were considering bidding.

Something about this bass just doesn't ring true - like it whispers "Univox" or something. But the fretboard looks like bubinga. The maple looks less than what RIC used then, more like what Univox used. I sure would like to see under the pickguard and TRC.
