I always wondered: was there ever a Rickenbacker bass in which design the regular 4000 series upper horn was combined with the 600 series lower horn?
Best wishes,
Ivan
Nope, but I've seen basses where the owner has modded it to do that. They look like a Manx cat IMHO. You know, cute, but they look like there's something missing.
Now a 4000 series design I'd love to see would be a bass body in the style of a 620. That has the correct design flow to work.
If they ever do it, I demand it be named my signature model. After all, I thought of it, and I'll probably be the only one to buy one, and it will make a nice change in 20 years after RIC has taken a bath on them, when John Hall gets the holy **** bugged out of him to re-introduce them for people that have never seen one and didn't want one when they were freely available.
Just so you know, it will have a '72 profile neck, 21 frets, a half inched spaced toaster, re-issue horseshoe, 0.47 cap installed, full width MOP and CB binding.
Also, while I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony.
